Introduction

GreenLeaf Homes & Services Ltd is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms. We believe everyone has the right to live free from exploitation, and we are dedicated to ensuring our operations and supply chains reflect our values of dignity, transparency, and respect for human rights.

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps we have taken, and will continue to take, to identify and mitigate the risks of modern slavery in our business and supply chains.

Our Organisation

GreenLeaf Homes & Services Ltd provides high-quality supported accommodation services for vulnerable individuals, including care leavers and young people aged 16 and over. We work closely with local authorities, commissioners, and safeguarding partners to deliver safe, nurturing environments that promote independence, personal growth, and protection from harm.

We are a UK-based SME with a modest but growing supply chain that includes staffing agencies, maintenance services, IT providers, food suppliers, and property contractors.

We are committed to:

  • Acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships

  • Implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place within our organisation or supply chains

  • Promoting awareness of modern slavery and safeguarding risks among staff and stakeholders

Due Diligence and Risk Management

We assess modern slavery risks in our organisation and supply chains by:

  • Requiring all new suppliers and contractors to complete a Modern Slavery Risk and Ethical Practice declaration

  • Conducting checks on staffing agencies to ensure compliance with UK employment laws

  • Incorporating clauses on modern slavery compliance into our service-level agreements and contracts

Policies and Procedures

We have implemented the following policies relevant to modern slavery:

  • Safeguarding Policy: Clear procedures for identifying and responding to signs of exploitation

  • Whistleblowing Policy: Protects individuals who raise concerns about unethical or unlawful behaviour

  • Recruitment and Employment Policy: Ensures fair and lawful recruitment, right-to-work checks, and ethical workforce practices

  • Lone Working and Missing Protocols: Used to detect and respond to potential exploitation of residents

Training and Awareness

We provide training to ensure our staff understand the signs of modern slavery and how to report concerns, including:

  • Annual safeguarding training

  • Induction modules on ethical practice and whistleblowing

  • Ongoing briefings and updates relating to exploitation risks, especially for frontline staff

Measuring Effectiveness
